‘Yeah, I definitely saw it. There, it went again!’
Greg threw down his roach rod and picked up the thick fibreglass sea poker.
‘Remember what the man in the shop told me,’ said Richard. ‘Let it run with the bait until it stops.’
Greg nodded, his eyes glued to the tip of the rod and his hand lightly feeling the reel. Then it began revolving again and this time it kept going as line was pulled steadily off the drum. The anticipation was unbearable.
‘Wait … wait!’ Richard encouraged.
