The fight lasted a good 15 minutes. Once he had stopped that first run, Robert brought the fish back into the deeper water and managed to keep it there, letting it run round in the open but always feeling that he had some control over it. Once he felt the fish weakening, he started backing up towards the shallower water close to the bank, coaxing the fish in with him.
