Sea trout fishing at night is incredibly exciting, but it can be weird as well. Nocturnal noises can be put down to local wildlife and visions in the darkness logically explained away in the cold light of day. Or can they?

As they moved closer, they saw two men in the dory stabbing at something in the water with long boat hooks. On the stern of the boat was lying what looked like a lump of fish.
‘That’s a shark in the water!’ cried Steve. ‘It’s attacking the damn boat, for God’s sake!’
