Murrayfield Golf Club

Murrayfield Golf Club’s creation in 1896 was part of the late nineteenth century explosion of interest in golf in Edinburgh which saw many private clubs created. The Murrayfield area was not as heavily populated as it is today and the bulk of the early membership came from the Haymarket district, the New Town and Western suburbs. Many of the founder members of the Club were already heavily involved in golf in East Lothian. No doubt they helped to create a course conveniently situated near their homes and businesses so that their love of this increasingly popular game could be pursued more easily. And while they played over the new fairways which stretched up the lower slopes of Corstorphine Hill, they could catch a glimpse of East Lothian and their other courses!

Situated approximately six miles southeast of the capital city of Edinburgh, Broomieknowe Golf Club offers a welcoming, mature parkland course, in superb condition, with all facilities, including clubhouse catering, changing and shower facilities, golf club and trolley hire. Broomieknowe is an easy walking course that is the product of two of the greatest names in golf, Ben Sayers and James Braid. The former originally laid out the course with Braid making extensions later on.

Comrie Golf Club

Comrie Golf Club was founded in 1891 and is notably one of the finest and picturesque nine hole golf courses in Perthshire. Situated on the outskirts of the village of Comrie, seven miles from Crieff on the A85 is just under a half an hours drive from Gleneagles, venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup and one and a half hours drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow airports. The greens are always in excellent condition, and the club is proud of the quality of the course. Golfers of all abilities will find it a challenging experience to play.

Cowglen Golf Club

Founded in 1906 originally as a 9 hole course, Cowglen is a challenging parkland course with many holes requiring an accurate tee shot to allow the correct approach to its well guarded greens. The course was re-constructed in 1923 under the guidelines of James Braid to 18 holes.Located on the Barrhead Road between Pollokshaws Toll and Pollok Shopping Centre, the clubhouse offers bar and catering facilities to a high standard. The club as a whole enjoys fabulous views over the Clyde Valley and the Campsie Hills.

Crieff Hill Golf Club

Founded in 1911, Craigie Hill is a Club steeped in history. Set in beautiful Perthshire, the course is located on the western edge of the historic City of Perth. The 18 hole golf course was designed around the natural contours of the land, and includes some of the most breathtaking scenery of any course in the area. The vista includes the magnificent meandering of the River Tay, spectacular Kinnoull Hill, splendour of “Britain in Bloom” winner Perth City and the snow covered Grampian Mountains, as well as the Crieff Hills.
