Royal Musselburgh Golf Club

The Royal Musselburgh golf Club is one of the oldest clubs in the world. For 150 years it’s members played over one of the oldest courses in the world, for one of the oldest trophies in the world. Now after more than 75 years on their course they can still cut their holes, to the correct size, with the oldest cutter in the world and still retain one of the most interesting collections of golf memorabillia in the world.

Many students have the habit of lining up way left or way right of the target. When the ball goes where they are “aiming”, they think they have a problem. If your ball consistently goes left or right of target, but flies straight, then your problem is your alignment. Try this simple method before every shot on the course and you’ll definitely drop a few strokes.

Silverknowes Golf Club

The Club offers people the chance to join a golf club with no waiting lists and expensive joining fees, and start their Medal playing career. Competitions for all levels of ability are provided across all of our golf courses that will give you the opportunity to achieve an official Scottish Golf Union Handicap. The Club is open to all members of the public and membership runs annually from the 1st April to the 31st March.

Kingsknowe Golf Club

Situated to the west of Edinburgh, Kingsknowe golf club is within easy reach of all Scotland via the Edinburgh City Bypass. Originally designed by Alec Herd, the 1902 Open champion, the course was later redesigned by James Braid. The parkland golf course in Edinburgh is laid out over and through the valleys of gently rolling hills on which Oliver Cromwells army gathered to bombard Redhall Castle in 1650. The hills now define the picturesque cherry tree-lined fairways from which the mindful golfer must propel his ball to the well-guarded and relatively small greens.

Longniddry Golf Club

Longniddry Golf Course is a unique combination of woodland and links located on the south side of Firth of Forth. There are no (men’s) par 5s although some of the par 4s are very testing, particularly into the prevailing westerly winds; this is reflected by the SSS of 70 – 2 shots above the par of 68. The course is not long by modern standards, but it is designed to reward the strategic player. The fairways are quite generous and the greens are fairly large, but the penalty for straying off-line can be severe. You will find mature Scots Pines, gorse, sea-buckthorn and punitive rough only too eager to punish the wayward drive. Hit it long, certainly, but you’d better be straight!

Visitors/Members web site. There can be few more stimulating courses than Luffness New. One can be astonished in middle age to walk off the eighteenth green feeling so invigorated and refreshed. The nature of the turf probably has something to do with this, being of the springy type which gives gently to the feet, like a rich Persian carpet. The sea air too has its beneficial qualities and the course is sensibly flat apart from minor undulations associated with seaside courses. On good days and bad, Luffness offers a feeling of escape, allied to a sense of challenge and enjoyment that few other courses can match.
