Oldham Golf Club

Founded in 1892 Oldham Golf Club is literally on the edge of the town and as the town is in the foot of the pennines so the course is part moorland and the views from ‘top o’ course’ are quite magnificent, the Cheshire Plain and Jodrell Bank always visible and on clear days the Welsh mountains away to the west come into view. Our membership is small by some comparisons, so members get to play when they want rather than joining the lottery used at some of the bigger clubs. We have a limited number of opportunities for new members in all categories for 2007. Please see the membership section for details. Application forms can be downloaded from this site, or picked up at the Club.

Pastures Golf Club

Opened in 1969, by professional golfer Max Faulkner, Pastures Golf Club has changed very little since then. That is of course apart from the few hundred trees that have been planted, the new tees that have been built, the green that has been moved, the better maintenance of the course and the fact that the course is now played in a different hole order than originally planned.Set in, what was until its closure and subsequent development in 1995, the grounds of a psychiatric hospital (Pastures Hospital hence the name) this nine hole course may not be the longest, but is defiantly one of the most testing in the Derby Area.Refreshments are always available with the bar being open every evening and Wednesday lunch times. This is the ‘Pastures Social Club’ which the golf club is affiliated to. When joining the Golf Club you automatically become a member of the Social Club.

Heaton Moor Golf Club

Set in a mature and protected conservation area, the gently undulating parkland course has two separate 9 holes starting from the Clubhouse. As a member and if time is short, the layout lends itself to playing just a few holes, if preferred, since there are several starting points. On a light summer evening it is hard to resist slipping out for ‘a bit of practice’ and you always have the added comfort of knowing that you are never more than a short walk from the 19th! A small practice ground adjoins the main drive and there are practice putting greens by the Clubhouse and the first tee.

Ruddington Grange Golf Club

Ruddington Grange, the first of a new crop of Nottinghamshire golf clubs is an attractive parkland type layout. Although quite open there is danger lurking in the way of cleverly positioned water hazards which come into play on eight holes. At just over 6,500 yards the course is not “long” by current standards and can be enjoyed by every standard of golfer. The course record of 68 was set in 1989 by Chris Hall and later matched by Lee Westwood.
