Hucknall Golf Centre

Hucknall Golf Centre comprises an 18 Hole Golf Course, Practice Chipping and Putting Greens and Clubhouse Facilities. The 6001 yard, Par 71 Course has been carefully remodelled to provide a parkland feel. With mounding lining the majority of fairways it is important that you hit your drive on them in order to make your approach to the greens easier. Once on the greens they rank as some of the best in the County. Water has to be negotiated on a number of holes and avoid the resident swans at all costs.

Kedleston Park is an 18 hole members course laid out in 155 acres of the mature parkland surrounding Kedleston Hall.Kedleston Hall, a National Trust property, is a Palladian Mansion built for the Curzon Family in the 18th century by Robert Adam. The course enjoys many scenic views over the surrounding park.Our clubhouse has two bars and an air-conditioned restaurant, with excellent views over the course with Kedleston Hall beyond.

Stockport Golf Club

Founded in 1906 Stockport Golf Club is a hidden gem in the Cheshire countryside. Although situated less than 3 miles from Stockport town centre, the golf course has some wonderful views of the Peak District and is a challenging Regional Qualifying course for the Open Championship. Stockport is a tree-lined, parkland course with generous fairways, played to large greens. The 1st hole is a difficult one to start the round, and plays its full distance of 463 yards from the back tees.

Overall, there is much variety in hole lengths and every kind of shot will be called for, but the opening five holes really stretch the average player. There are many holes with character, for example the fifth, with a long uphill carry to the green with a pond to the left and below the green and the need to hold the shot up to that side. The sixth is a short hole from an elevated tee to a small green set at an angle to the tee with enticing views over the pond below the green to the left, with woods and fields in all directions. The eighth requires a long straight tee shot to find a narrow fairway to give a long iron shot to a steeply sloping green. This hole was reached from the medal tee in the 1970’s by one of our past members, Mr George Johnson. This feat was reproduced on the 19th of April 2003 by David Blockley who was playing in the company of the Captain and Vice Captain.
