Maree was also the Scottish landfall for the art of dapping. Established as a great way of taking sea trout on the big Irish loughs, it proved just as effective on Maree. This was one of the attractions for husband and wife anglers John and Veronica, who loved the loch so much that they made annual visits for many years and, whenever the breeze was strong enough, they dapped.
