Trentham Park Golf Club (TPGC) has, over the years, established itself as a superb parkland course conveniently located with excellent access from junction 15 of the M6.Set in the former grounds of Trentham Hall, once the seat of the Duke of Sutherland. TPGC is an 18-hole par 71 course that measures 6425 off the back tees with many challenging holes that offer both high and low handicap golfers a fair and exciting challenge.The course is well wooded and makes excellent use of water features including an unforgettable opening drive which needs to skirt a waterfall and lake if par is to be achieved.

ies just 1 mile from Junction 37 (M1) along the A628 (Manchester Road). A parkland/down land course of 18 holes, 6069 yards, currently being extended to 6648 yards, with spectacular views over the villages of Silkstone, Cawthorne and foothills of the Pennines. The original course was founded in Barnsley and moved to its present location in 1905 where 9 holes were constructed at a cost of around £600. Construction of the second 9 holes was delayed by the First World War and was not brought into use until 1917.

Tankersley Park Golf Course was opened in 1907 and was extended to eighteen holes in 1924. It then developed under the expert supervision of Arthur Storey, Golf Professional, Course Designer, Green keeper and Golfing Guru. On a few acres of redundant mining spoil and moorland he laid the foundations of a wonderful test of accurate iron play. The careless golfer, who strays from the now beautifully manicured fairways, can still find the remnants of the land’s industrial past. Some forty barrow like mounds left behind in Georgian and Victorian times by bell pit miners digging for coal and ironstone, litter the course.
