Royal Epping Forest Golf Club

The course, being on forest land, is a public one. It is laid out over the old hunting grounds of King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I; where the infamous highwayman Dick Turpin roamed in the 1730’s and where golf was first played in Essex on an officially recognised course in 1888. The club has a close and friendly relationship with the Corporation of London which administers the course. It is also the only Golf Club in Essex with the Royal Title.

Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club

The Deal course is traditionally laid out on a narrow stretch of land extending to Sandwich Bay, and the natural links terrain has been subtly used to provide a wide variety of challenges. On almost every hole there is an abundance of large sand dunes which establishes the undulating character of the course and makes it unique. Unlike most other courses the fairways are just as undulating and it is seldom that a completely flat stance can be obtained other than on the tees. As with all traditional seaside links, the wind is a major factor which has to be taken into account when deciding on club and shot selection.The bunkers (74 in total) are large but fair and easily seen from the tees and fairways, and are in the most part steep and revetted. Not all holes have bunkers but this in no way diminishes their degree of difficulty.

A highly favoured venue for many of the County, Professional and Welsh Amateur events this Championship course offers a great test of golf amidst a spectacular setting. With a SSS of 73 for the men and 74 for the ladies, Llangollen is challenging test but at least it is very easy walking!

The Woolston manor course was designed using the natural features of the land, in particular the river Roding which meanders throughout the course. As you cross the bridges of the first seven holes you can see numerous types of freshwater fish and in the summer butterflies adorn the second and fifth holes to put you in a relaxing mood at the start of your round.
