Wavendon Golf Centre comprises an 18 Hole Parkland Course, a Par 3, 9 Hole Course, a 9 Hole Pitch and Putt Course, 36 Bay Floodlit Driving Range, a Clubhouse with Bar, Carvery and Conference Facilities.The beautifully presented 18 Hole Course has been designed in a traditional Parkland setting. Designed through the mature oak and lime trees with carefully positioned bunkers and more than the odd splash of water make driving accuracy a priority.

Weston Turville Golf Club

Weston Turville Golf Course was established in 1973. The 18-hole golf course is 6008 yards and is par 69. Situated at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, the course presents a demanding test for the lower handicap but is not sodaunting that the higher handicap cannot score well and enjoy the gamewith prudent use of the shots they receive. Water hazards are a distinctivefeature of the course and there is plenty of variety in the character of the holes. Among the many interesting holes is the 15th. It is a 90-degree dogleg to the left with a green guarded by bunkers and water. Even with a good drive the approach shot demands accuracy to give any realchance of par.

Whittlebury Park Golf & Country Club was once part of the Royal Whittlewood Forest which stretched for miles and many of the mighty oak trees within the park have stood proud for more than a thousand years, during which time the park has been a Royal Hunting Forest and home to red deer. Also within the grounds of the estate is the site of a stoneage hill fort, a Roman road and dwellings mentioned in the doomsday book. All of the attributes add to the rich history of this ancient park.

This puts Woburn in an unrivalled position and means any day spent on the Duke’s, the Duchess’ or the Marquess’ course is truly memorableIn 1974 the late 14th Duke of Bedford had the foresight and courage to see that a world-class golf facility could be created at Woburn. The Duke’s course opened in 1976 closely followed by the Duchess course in 1978 but the Duke always suspected that the very best piece of land had not yet been used and for many years hoped to build a third course. The new Marquess course was officially opened in June 2000 and designed with modern Champions in mind, it quickly became known as the best new Inland Course in Britain.

The course provides a fine test of golf for all abilities. It presents a rich variety of memorable holes making the most of the natural variations in the terrain which is a mix of rolling parkland with inviting fairways and elevated links-like heathland with tighter targets. Mature trees and water are in play at many holes, with the Loch of Aboyne being a notable feature. The course lies on a free-draining soil and enjoys a surprisingly dry micro-climate. It is exceptionally well-maintained and shows little, if any, of the usual signs of the passage of golfers.
