Blundells Hill Golf Club

In 1990, when Phil and Steve McKie were running a successful engineering business and happened to own several acres of woodland and quarry (now occupied by the two storey clubhouse that sits proudly overlooking the course), Phil was talking to a neighbour who was considering using his 120 acres of land, adjacent to theirs, to build a golf course. Discussions continued and, despite being non-golfers, they offered to become partners in the project, only to find that development was an arduous process which resulted in Phil’s neighbour withdrawing from the team, leaving Phil and Steve to continue with the plans. “If we knew what we were getting into we may have thought twice” said Steve.

Visit is truly memorable.Bramhall Golf Club was founded in 1905 with nine holes, and was extended to 18 holes shortly after. It is one of the most beautiful parkland courses in Cheshire and measures 6,347 yards par 70 for Gentlemen and 5,689 yards par 73 for Ladies. The course provides a fine test of golf for the low handicapper but does not prove too punishing for the majority. The high standard of the course is reflected in the fact that the Club regularly hosts County and Regional Fixtures, and has also had the honour of staging National Golf Events, including the European Ladies Matchplay Championship.

Sandiway Golf Club

Sandiway is an old, well established and highly regarded private members’ club lucky enough to possess a classic English wooded heath land course. It has been described variously by the author Robin Allen as `The Wentworth of the North’ in his book and by national golfing publications as `a course you must play before you die’ and `a jewel in Cheshire’s crown.’
