Officially opened on July 16, 1910, when Harry Vardon and James Braid tookpart in an exhibition match, the course has since undergone some subtlechanges. The redevelopment following WWII left intact the sleepers at the 2ndand 10th, as well as the Mae West mounds at the 12th. The year 2000 saw aredevelopment that re-bunkered the course, added subtle mounding, and altereda few tee positions. The overall objective was successful in creating a morestrategic course that challenges players of all ages and skill levels

Osborne Golf Club is situated in the grounds of Osborne House on the sunny Isle of Wight just off the south coast of England. The club was formed in 1972 from Osborne House Golf Club which was itself established in 1904.The club is a 9 hole golf course, 6358 yards from the Championship tees (SSS70), 6129 yards from the normal play tees (SSS69) and 5758 yards from the ladies tees (SSS72). It is a parkland course with several woods and copses with views out over the Solent. The greens are watered but are firm in the summer.Osborne Golf Club is noted for its Red Squirrels which may be seen at various places round the course, including between the ninth green and the Clubhouse.
