The course is laid out through a mature parkland setting. There are gentle slopes – enough to provide an interesting challenge, but not so steep as to require crampons! There are water features to add to your enjoyment and well designed bunkers to catch the unwary. Keep it straight, stay out of the rough and don’t push too hard and you will have a braw day.

Set in the heart of the Strathmore valley, Strathmore Golf Centre was opened in 1996 by Kathryn Marshall and has quickly matured and gained a reputation as the “Friendly Place to Play Golf”. The centre has something for everyone, the 18-hole Rannaleroch Course and the 9-hole Leitfie Links, 10 bay covered golf range, golf academy and a friendly atmosphere in the clubhouse. Established in 1890, North Wilts Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in Wiltshire. It is situated high on the downlands of the county, with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. The chalk base allows for free draining and the 18 hole par 71 course offers a real test to golfers of all standards. The club has been selected to host a number of National and Regional EGU competitions in recent years, including the English Boys County Finals and the Reid Trophy (the National under 14 Schoolboy Championship).

The Club was formed in 1992 after a chance meeting between Colin Axford, the landowner and the Late Mike Slater PGA Golf Professional and Course Designer,and after received planning permission for construction of the 18 hole course and clubhouse early in 1993 the course building got underway commenced later that spring. 26 weeks later, using land which was originally a turf farm the first 9 holes were opened, the date was Sunday 28th August 1993 – just 12 months to the day from it’s conception.
