elcome to Brancepeth Castle Golf Club. We are situated in the historic village of Brancepeth, four miles south-west of the Cathedral City of Durham on the A690 to Crook. We have been host to some of the most prestigious competitions in recent years including the English Golf Union and the Mens and Ladies Champions Club Tournament.The course was designed by Harry Colt and presently measures 6400 yards and its par and SSS of 70 prove a sound test to many of the countries leading amateurs who meet annually to compete in the Club’s open amateur 36-hole stroke play Championship for the Leonard Crawley Medal.

Durham City Golf Club is one of England’s oldest inland clubs having been inaugurated in December 1887.During that time we have had three homes within the ancient city of Durham moving to our third, and hopefully final course, here at Littleburn in November 1974.The course is a delightful meadowland course laid out on the banks of the River Browney just off the A690 some 2 miles SW of Durham City.

Parley Court Golf Club

The course itself is an easy walking nine hole layout with 18 tee positions adding a varied dimension to your game on each nine holes, and requires more course management than is at first apparent. Not unduly long, but to score you had better find the fairways. After a comfortable start over the first three holes, you cross the road to a tricky short par 3, bunkered and with a water hazard. Then the signature hole the 5th, double dogleg par 5 with the river right and ditches near the green. A good drive is a must and a five is something to celebrate. Back to the older holes, par 4s that need accuracy rather than length, all in all an enjoyable test. Great for the short game.

Mount Oswald Golf Club

The 18 hole parkland course whilst not too long, 5984 yards to be exact, is popular with many seasoned golfers, yet is no too daunting for the less experienced. There are no hills to climb but the undulating nature of some of the fairways may leave you with a demanding approach to the well manicured and receptive greens. The front 9 holes are more tree lined than the back 9, so a premium is put on accuracy. The closing holes are very picturesque finishing with the imposing mansion house as a backdrop. This really is a course suitable to all levels of golfer who will all benefit from this magnificent setting close to the Durham City centre.

North Weald Golf Club

One of the most improved golf clubs in Essex, North Weald Golf Club was originally designed by Peter Allis and Clive Clark and redesigned by David Williams in 1994. This par 71 course at 6377 yards, was chosen as the venue for the Youth Shield Final, the Essex Matchplay Trophy (The Allan Lockwood Trophy) and has also been chosen to host the Essex Amateur Championship in 2008. It has a demanding layout that offers a challenge to all levels of golfer.
